DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE RESIDENTS WHO ARE NOW VERY SETTLED
INTO THEIR HOME AND COMMUNITY.
This is an exciting opportunity and will be of interest to people that
are currently working in the area of intellectual disability and
autism. We are particularly interested in meeting people who are have
an understanding of the support needs of young people with
intellectual disability and autism and are keen to further their
education, training and experience.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a
skilled and responsive staff team to deliver a high quality service
for these young people. Working closely with the Social Care Leader,
multi disciplinary team and families the key task is to provide a
positive behaviour and person centred supports to ensure a good
quality of life for the young adults.
St. Michael's House is a community based organisation committed to
providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living
to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area.
CONTRACT
The positions are permanent and as a Section **Apply on the website**
organisation salary is in line with the Department of Health
consolidated pay scales and benefits include pension, illness and
maternity benefit schemes.
FURTHER TRAINING
Many Direct Support Workers in St. Michael?s House are supported to
undertake a Social Care Degree through St. Michael?s House Open
Training College.

THE IDEAL DIRECT SUPPORT WORKER MUST POSSESS:
A MINIMUM OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING QQI / FETAC LEVEL 5 FULL AWARD
QUALIFICATIONS:

* At least 1 year previous experience of supporting individuals with
Intellectual disability
* Experience of promoting community inclusion and active

* Experience working with families, clinicians and other networks of
support
* Possess excellent communication skills
SALARY SCALE:?Successful candidate for the Direct Support Worker
